Recently the Singapore dollar has been reevaluated upward. This is of particular note to those interested in global multicurrency investments at a time when both the US dollar and Euro are being devalued. The Singapore dollar recently traded at near record highs as improving confidence in the Asian economies continued to raise the value of all Asian currencies. In addition, bank loan statistics continued to show a faster than expected expansion of the Singaporean economy. The significance of rise of their dollar at the same time the US dollar is reaching new lows cannot be ignored by those looking for a safe haven jurisdiction in which to invest.

Singapore established the Board of Commissioners of Currency, on April 7, 1967 and issued its first coins and notes. The Singapore dollar remained exchangeable at par with the Malaysian ringgit until 1973 when it was pegged to the British sterling pound. After the demise of the sterling pound until 1985 the Singapore dollar was pegged against a fixed a trade-weighted basket of currencies. Beginning in 1985, Singapore adopted a market-oriented exchange policy monitored by the newly created Monetary Authority of Singapore or MAS. The MAS continue to set monetary policy for the Singapore dollar today. The MAS allows the dollar to float against a basket of currencies representing Singapore’s trading partners and competitors. Singapore dollars are fully backed by government assets to ensure public confidence in the dollar. The MAS policies allow the Singapore government to maintain control over inflation while at the same time ensuring Singapore’s exports remain competitive.

Singapore is Asia’s major financial hub. The upward valuation of the Singapore dollar and continued strength of the economy makes this location an attractive jurisdiction for deposits from European and North American investors. A further advantage for wealthy foreigners considering investments in Singapore is the country’s business and investor friendly banking and tax laws. In the past, many North American and European investors found banking in Singapore difficult due to the physical distance from their home country, and the requirement imposed by most banks there that opening and managing an account had to be done face-to-face in the country. As more multinational banks open branch offices in Singapore the requirement that investors physically be in Singapore is changing. Today, the multinational banks are able to provide investors with accounts in Singapore and financial advisors and account managers not very far from the accountholder’s home. These multinational banks also offer investors a diversified investment strategy including contingency plans to shift investor’s accounts to a different jurisdiction, within the same bank, on short notice, if a particular jurisdiction becomes financially unstable for any reason.

A high ranking on the ease of doing business index means that the regulatory environment is conducive to the operation of a business. Also, the Singapore economy is based on free enterprise, with no restrictions on foreign ownership of business. Employing workers measures the flexibility of labour laws among various countries over the world. It examines the difficulty of hiring a new worker, rigidity in terms of working hours and problems faced while dismissing a worker. Trading across borders criteria includes documentation, time and cost to export and import. Singapore is also ranked first for having the most open economy for international trade and investment by the World Economic Forum.

Singapore is business friendly and an ideal country for company formation because of the ease with which taxes can be filed and paid, and also its low corporate tax rates relative to many developed economies in the world. From Year of Assessment 2010 onwards, the corporate tax rate of Singapore is to be 17%, just 0.5% higher than that of Hong Kong – Singapore’s closest competitor in the Asia region. However, the effective tax rate is significantly lower than most of the countries, if not all the countries, in the region. With a further reduction in the 1% from 18% to 17% in corporate tax rate, it will enhance Singapore’s appeal to attract investment dollars.

The increase in exports of textiles from developing countries is no doubt a good sing.

The success of Singapore as an offshore banking hub is a result of the country’s economic stability, security and business-friendly practices. The country’s taxation rates, which are among the lowest in Asia, its rating as a grade A offshore center and its relationship with many major international financial institutions are just some of the factors that make Singapore an ideal offshore banking center.

Individuals who open offshore accounts in Singapore are typically investors from North America, Europe and Australia who look for high quality banking services. Singapore fits the bill perfectly, with its world-class banking structures, proficiency in English and an independent business environment that is outside the United States and European Union’s influence. The country’s stable economy, flexible regulations and sophisticated legal system help ensure individuals are able to efficiently conduct their offshore businesses.

One factor that makes Singapore ideal as an offshore banking site is its tax regulations on foreign account holders. Interest earned by foreign individuals on bank deposits, overseas income and Singapore-based investments are tax-exempt. Individuals with accounts in Singapore are also free from capital gains taxes and estate duties on deposits and investments. Singapore bank accounts can also be maintained in all major currencies, allowing for a wider range of account options for individuals from all over the world. Bank accounts may also be opened in the name of corporations or trusts, allowing individuals great flexibility in asset reporting.

Singapore is home to some of the most reputable global financial institutions, such as Citigroup, HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank – all of which will accommodate individuals looking to set up an offshore account in the country. Offshore banking in Singapore is a seamless way for foreign investors to enter the Asian region. With the country’s economic, banking and tax policies foreign individuals can be assured of conducting their businesses in a secure, flexible and reliable environment.

For company looking into expanding their office space in Singapore, finding a suitable space is becoming a challenging task. Some companies had opted to move towards High tech building or business park zone. Due to the tight supply of office rental in Singapore, some companies had also decentralized their operation, moving backend operation out of the central business district. There are still ample office spaces in the industrial or business park zone.

With careful planning and interior design, shophouse office can be renovated to be an office with taste. The popular shophouse offices in Singapore are located at Amoy Street, Telok Ayer Street and Tras Street.
For some companies, moving out of the Central Business District to the fridge of business zone becomes the number one choice. Others are moving to the business park paying lower rental without compromising the corporate image. However, they do need to compromise on the location as most business park do not residue in the central of Singapore. Most of the business park and high tech building are located either at the east or west side of the island. With this office rental trend, the rental of suburban and business had also increased.

The business web site is very essential from the customer’s first point of contact. Business can be transacted or hoped for only when the business is accessible via a unique company website or through its email address. When you are looking for the best and most productive Singapore Web Hosting provider there are certain features and qualities that you would have to look for.

The most productive Singapore web hosting provider would be one that is reputable and a pioneer in web hosting and designing and part of very strong online referrals. The Singapore web hosting provider should be able to cater to the business needs for a wide variety of packages to choose from to build up an internet presence, within a specified budget and time frame.

The endeavor should be focused on your online business and most Singapore web hosting providers should enable you to use their web hosting services for productive deeds such as setting up a business-centric community forum, and preferably with access to un-metered data transfer and unlimited domains. It is also a bonus if the provider offers you the services of a dedicated in house team, who can take up the task of optimizing your web presence and generating profit.

Singapore web hosting providers should also be able to recommend you someone who can design a discussion room or forum for productive interaction between the company executives and clientele. You should be able to access services that enable the formation of a gallery of web media that is dedicated to your business endeavor and build on it in good time.

The most desirable Singapore web hosting provider should also be one that can offer hosting plans for personal use, like enabling the creation of hobby web sites and daily blogs that are constantly being updated by the customers. The Singapore web hosting provider should be affordable and flexible when it comes to plans and prices. The package should be a business specific no-frills package that is not only sophisticated, but also very comprehensive and provides a full feature set.

The most productive Singapore web hosting provider is also one who enables you to choose the amount of capacity and power you need. This refers to the need for your business to be optimized via a simple, one-page website or a more sophisticated high-end site. The team should also be able to provide you with the needed support for an online storefront or a dedicated eBusiness portal, when and as the need arises. A good Singapore web hosting provider should be able to take care of all this and more and work in sync with the special requirements of your online business.

Singapore is a well-established city with superb infrastructure, disciplined society, and excellent transportation facilities. Singapore’s airport has been consistently rated among the world’s best airports. Apart from being one of the world’s safest as well as cleanest cities, Singapore is also a leader in such arenas as oil refining and distribution and shipbuilding and repairing. The city is also a major center for electronics, finance, and communication. Al though a highly sophisticated modern city, Singapore still preserves it charm, and presents a multicultural heritage, which is an elegant mix of Indian, Chinese, Eurasian, and Malaysian cultures. In short, Singapore is a highly favored destination brimming with tourist spots as well as business opportunities. No wonder why real estate properties, both residential and commercial property, in Singapore are booming and of great demand.

Understanding the potentials and opportunities that are available here, many foreigners including retired people and business people have now started investing in residential property market in Singapore. It is estimated that an ordinary townhouse or apartment of about 1000 sq ft cost approximately $1 million. Many buyers invest in residential properties in order to rent it while some invest in it to sell it after a period of one or two years when prices rise. According to records, renting of residential properties in the city can fetch you $36,000 to $80,000 per annum. However, the location of the real estate property determines its value and rent.
